What Is the Difference Between Marble and Granite?

Two of the most popular materials we use for countertop are marble and granite.  Every fabricator knows the difference between the two but not all homeowners. Determining what is granite and its difference from marbles will greatly help every homeowners to choose the right material for the kitchen countertop.

Functionality is one of the most important things to consider when searching for the right material.

Marble has a very desirable look but is porous in nature making it more susceptible to stains and edging. Having said that, Marble is better suited for quitter spaces such as master bathrooms, powder rooms and Jacuzzi surroundings.  On the other hand, Granite is extremely versatile stone. It is very stain-resistant and extremely hard material. This makes Granite a great choice in every setting form kitchens to children’s bathroom to fireplace surroundings or countertops and more.

Granite has a wide variety of different colors within the slab; it can contain either veiny or consistent patterns.

Appearance is an extremely important and personal aspect to making the selection to your project.  If you look closely you can see the mineral deposits. These are natural minerals that help give granite a colorful complexion and a large color variation. Marble is known more for its settle beauty and while it can have swirling beams throughout the variety of colors within the slab are not as wide as granite.

The finish of the slab is another aspect of the stone. It helps to influence the customer’s decision. Granite tends to have a glossy reflective finish which is great to help the material stand out and impress in any situation. Marble has a softer appearance with a less glossy finish and help for settle beauty in a classic setting.

Whichever material you choose with, here at Remfinder, you are sure to get incredible quality and the best customer service in the industry. And with over two thousand colors it is impossible not to find the material for you.
